Where time seems to have stood still...
.... castles, churches and noble homes narrate Val di Sole’s history that dates back thousands of years: it was first inhabited by the Celts, followed by the Raeti, the Romans and the Franks, it was then dominated by the Prince Bishops of Trento and then by the Austro-Hungarians.
It became a frontier area during WWI and after WWII migration became an increasingly important phenomenon.
Visitors can discover a significant amount of rural buildings, churches and forts that represent the events that took place in the valley during the past ten centuries and that are an important reminder of the Medieval period.
